ASK-CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION
ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation is Central Virginia's largest and most comprehensive provider of support services for children with cancer or serious blood disorders and their families. ASK was started in 1975 by parents of children going through treatment and we’ve been dedicated to making life better for kids with cancer ever since.
Our support begins at the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond with financial assistance, educational programs, emotional & psycho-social support services and social events. We know that a cancer diagnosis can affect the entire family, so our services extend to siblings, parents and caregivers as well as patients, survivors and bereaved families.
There are currently 110 families with a child receiving active cancer treatment in our community. The coronavirus pandemic has made caring for a child with cancer even more daunting and while we can’t be face-to-face with our families, our programs are still making a difference. Whether it’s paying a bill for a family over the phone, reducing a caregiver’s stress and anxiety through a psychology telehealth appointment or helping a child keep up with their schoolwork through an online tutoring session, we are here to help. Our continued efforts to support children with cancer and their families are made possible by the generous support of our community partners like CYN's Diamond Bar! Thank you!
